Alabama, Fairground, And The Best Taco Bell Ever.
So on the 13th we embarked on a weekend tour comprised of showcase shows for our label, Pitfall Records. Here’s a brief recap.
Friday November, 13th- Set out for Scottsboro, Alabama around 9/10 A.M. Playlist included Champion, On, Saves the Day, Bush, and others. Had to drive through Tennessee, some of Georgia, (where a truck ran over a deer carcass in the road, slinging guts and shit all over the windshield), finally arriving in AL at…some time. Not even sure. Drove through a few dry counties, much to our dismay. But with the correct directions we quickly made it to a town of drunks. After being called “faggot” by a female gas station employee we decided to cruise to the venue with our booze. We drove down a stretch of road that was not unlike Leatherface’s neighborhood. Stoked. Any minute we were fully expecting to be hate-fucked to death by surly inhabitants. After driving on “Buttram Cross” for a few miles we arrived at a venue: read as “barn.” No big deal. Dudes were fun. We sipped on some “Bronsons” in the van and talked music with Michael and Charles from Latin For Truth, and Josh Allen from Dead Heroes. Good times. Sang four part harmonies to random people as they passed. No big deal. Just singin’. Maneater and In Regret were sweet. Both good bands. Then we played. Solid set, lots of sing alongs. Justin swung from the rafters and in the process broke his guitar. Bums. Dead Heroes…holy shit. RULES. Latin For Truth laid it down too. We packed up and headed for food. Drove twenty miles until we found a Taco Bell. Best Taco Bell of all time. Slept at Michael LFT’s crib. I think I’ll leave the other days to post later.
